“Long-term support is a key part of Saab’s offering and we look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with France. We are proud to support the French armed forces with our Giraffe AMB mobile command and control shelter, which has its own radar sensor, ”said Anders Carp, Head of Saab’s Surveillance business line.
Saab delivered the Giraffe AMB systems to France in 2006. Since then, France has used the Giraffe AMB radar and the Saab command and control shelter for various tasks, including military aerial surveillance. Saab will do the majority of the work in Gothenburg, Sweden, with some work taking place on site in France.
The Giraffe AMB is part of Saab’s Giraffe product family which includes high performance air and sea surveillance and target indication radars, covering very short to long ranges. The Giraffe also has essential command and control for ground air defense and detection and warning applications.
